ONA, WV-Upon monitoring the forecast for Saturday, officials with the Super Cup Stock Car Series have made the decision to postpone the Nitro Construction Twin 40’s to Saturday, August 2nd. With many teams traveling in Friday, the series is forced to make the decision today to give teams the opportunity to cancel hotel rooms.
Nitro Construction Kids Night for this Saturday, June 14th at Ona Speedway is still on and will feature a racing card of LG Pressure Washing Modifieds, Eco First Street Stocks, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s, Three Sixteen Motorsports INEX Legends Cars, Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vics, Crazy Compacts, and Keaton’s Collision Center Juice Boxes. The Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s will also now have a Dark Horse Dash race for drivers who did not win a feature last season, this season or a Dark Horse Dash last year.
The speedway has also made the decision to postpone the Monster Truck Inflatable due to the forecast and deadlines on a rain check for the inflatable. The Monster Truck Inflatable will be at the speedway at a future race. At the current time, the Electrified Monster Truck is still scheduled to be at the speedway and the first 140 kids through the ticket gate will still get the FREE race car toy giveaway.
Ona Speedway management is continuing to monitor the forecast for Saturday and will make a final decision by no later than 11:30 am on Saturday. The speedways intention is to race Saturday should the forecast show improvement, but will not be able to make that call until the event gets closer and more accurate hourly forecasts can be monitored.
The raceday schedule has been modified for Saturday. Pit gates will now open at 2:00 pm while practice will start at 3:00 pm. Racing will still start at 6:30 pm.
The Test N’ Tune for Friday, June 13th is still on as scheduled with an open Test N’ Tune from 5:00-8:15 pm.
