ONA, WV-Heavy rains on Friday have completely saturated the Ona Speedway standing water all over the pit area. With more rain forecasted Friday night and through most of the day Saturday, there is absolutely no window for drying time, leaving Ona Speedway officials forced to postpone the One Way Septic Mid-Season Championships to the built in make-up date on the schedule of Saturday, July 23rd.
The Ona Speedway will be in action this upcoming Friday and Saturday July 15th-16th with one of the biggest races of the season, the 3rd Annual Yes Chevrolet/Yes Ford Cabin Fever Bash headlined by the second ever appearance of the Midwest Modifieds Tour. The Midwest Modifieds Tour is one of short track racing’s premier touring series with the fastest Modifieds in the midwest. Last season, 25 Modifieds came to Ona to do battle in the 50 lap race.
The two day mega-event will get underway on Friday, July 15th with open practice for the Midwest Modifieds Tour from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm. That evening will feature an exciting 4 division program of Bumper Pounding Street Stocks, Greg Chandler Frame & Body Sport Mods, McCam Builders Classic Cars, and Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s. Pit gates will open at 1 pm with general admission gates opening at 5:00 pm and racing starting at 7:00 pm. There will also be a free post race concert after the races on Friday by Burning Ridge. General admission Friday is only $10 for ages 15 and up, $5 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under. All access pit passes are $30 for ages 15 and up, $15 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under.
Saturday, July 16th will feature a full program for the Midwest Modifieds Tour of practice, time trials, the last chance qualifier race, and the Cabin Fever 50 main event. Keaton’s Collision Center Late Models, Southern Ohio Speed INEX Legends Car Pro, Geer Brother’s Body Shop INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro, and Snap Lawn & Handyman Service Crazy Compacts will also be in action. Pit gates will open at noon with general admission gates opening at 4:00 pm and racing at 6:00 pm. General admission Saturday is only $15 for ages 15 and up, $10 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under. All access pit passes are $30 for ages 15 and up, $15 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under.
