ONA, WV-Following a cancelation last Saturday, June 22nd for extreme heat, the Ona Speedway will be back in action this Saturday, June 29th for the One Way Septic Firecracker Extravaganza.  The racing card will feature the All Seasons Powersports Late Models, LG Pressure Washing Modifieds, Haunted Majestic Street Stocks, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s, Three Sixteen Motorsports INEX Legends Car Pro, Three Sixteen Motorsports INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro, Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vics, and Crazy Compacts.  At the end of the races, the track will have a big fireworks show presented by Bill & Lynn Bauer.

The One Way Septic Firecracker Extravaganza is always one of the most exciting race nights at the track each season.  With the popular fireworks show that is well known as being one of Cabell County’s best fireworks shows, the event typically draws a strong crowd and that energy goes right into making for an exciting night of racing.  With the forecasted heat resulting in a condensed raceday schedule, all classes except the Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s will start their feature races via a pill draw.  This is a recipe for even more exciting racing as the results of the pill draw could shuffle the starting lineup more than the usual invert draw.

Saturday will also see the debut of the new Crazy Compact class.  The class is making a return with a brand new rules package almost identical to what is run at the Midvale and Shady Bowl Speedway’s that has had a lot of success at those tracks.  With the announcement of the class in the month of June, numbers in the division are expected to be low to start out but the track feels like it is a class that can grow in the future.

The speedway also announced this week the purchase of the Fod Razor, an innovative piece of equipment used to clean the tracks asphalt surface that is widely used by NASCAR.  The Fod Razor was used for the last race and received rave reviews for helping open up the outside lane more than has been seen previously.  This made for one of our most exciting nights of racing we’ve seen in a while back on June 15th and is sure to make for a great show again on Saturday.

Excitement will be the key word as we look at Saturday’s event.  The format is sure to bring excitement and everyone will be anxiously anticipating the fireworks show at the end of the night.  One thing is for sure, this is a show that race fans will not want to miss.

General admission Saturday is only $15 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.  All access pit passes are $35 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.  Pit gates will open at 3:30 pm while general admission gates will open at 5:00 pm.  Racing will start at 7:00 pm.
