ONA, WV-As we head into the fall season, it is time for the biggest event at Ona Speedway, the Yes Chevrolet/Yes Ford Mountaineer 100. This year’s event will feature a record purse under the TK Promotion’s era with over $30,000 in purse money up for grabs for the weekend.
The event will feature two big days of racing on Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th. Friday, September 23rd will feature open practice for the Modifieds and Saturday cars in the afternoon and then move into a full racing program of Greg Chandler Frame & Body Sport Mods paying $800 to win, Southern Ohio Speed INEX Legends Car Pro paying $600 to win, Geer Brother’s Body Shop INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro paying $400 to win, and Snap Lawn & Handyman Crazy Compacts paying $300 to win. The Geer Brother’s Body Shop INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro class will have double features, with the first feature being the rain delayed Season Championship race. The starting lineup for that race has already been set. The second feature will be the actual Mountaineer weekend feature paying $400 to win that will be a totally new show. McCam Builders Classic Cars have been dropped from the Friday racing card due to car count.
After the races on Friday there will be a post race Mountaineer 100 Pit Party featuring a concert by Billy D and Gretchen Lee Band.
Saturday, September 24th will feature 5 huge feature races with the Mountaineer 100 for McCam Builders Modifieds paying $2,000 to win and $400 to start, the Mountaineer 50 for Keaton’s Collision Center Late Models paying $1,500 to win, Bumper Pounding Street Stocks racing 40 laps for $1,000 to win, and Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s racing 40 laps for $800 to win.
Sponsorships Available
We will have sponsorships available to be a presenting sponsor for a classes race. The cost is $700 for Late Models, $500 for Street Stocks, $500 for Legends Cars, $400 for UCAR’s, $400 for Sport Mods, $250 for Crazy Compacts, and $250 for Crown Vics. Being a presenting sponsor will get your name blasted on the social media for the race which will reach over 100,000 people and announced over the PA at the speedway on race night. Admission Prices
Friday’s general admission prices are only $10 for ages 15 and up, $5 for ages 11-14, and free for ages $10 and under. Friday’s all access pit pass cost is $30 for ages 15 and up, $15 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under.
Saturday’s general admission prices are only $20 for ages 15 and up, $10 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under. Saturday’s all access pit pass cost is $35 for ages 15 and up, $20 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under.
