ONA, WV-The Ona Speedway is proud to announce what is set to be one of the biggest events in the speedways modern era. The Haunted Majestic Halloween Bash is set to take Ona Speedway by storm on Saturday, October 26th in what will be one of the biggest races in the United States for the Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vics.
The race will boast a $5,000 winners payout with a field of 40 cars. If there are less than 40 cars, the winners purse will be $100 less per car. That means if 30 cars are in attendance, the race will pay $4,000 to win. The payout from 2nd on back will remain unchanged regardless of car count. Depending on additional sponsorship and the entry totals, the speedway is looking at having a non-qualifiers race, but at minimum non qualifiers will receive $40 each.
“I am so excited about the car count potential for this race”, stated track promoter T. J. Layne. “If you take a 5 hour radius of Ona Speedway, I would say there’s every bit of 200 or more Crown Vic race cars out there. Nearly every track, ours included, sees the class race for $150-$200 to win each race. To go from that to a race that will pay $5,000 to win with 40 cars is a really big deal for these teams. Having the race at the end of the season when nearly every track racing Crown Vics is finished for the season makes the car count potential absolutely huge.”
The Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vics will race a 75 lap feature for the big money. The top 16 qualifiers will lock into the feature event while the rest will have to run a 20 lap last chance race. If there are 32 cars or less there will be one last chance race taking the top 8 to the feature. If there are 33-52 cars, there will be two last chance races taking the top 4 in each race to the feature. 53 or more cars would see three last chance races with the top 3 in each race to the feature.
Pre-registration for the event is open on the speedway website (link posted below). Teams are encouraged to pre-register for the event prior to the October 14th pre-registration deadline. Pre-registration for the event is $100 and includes the race entry fee, a free pit pass to the practice day on October 25th and a post on the Ona Speedway Facebook page which will publish all the entries sponsors. Registration goes up to $120 after October 14th. The rain date for the event would be on Saturday, November 2nd. If weather would interfere and the event would be completely cancelled, drivers will receive a full, 100% refund on the registration.
In addition to this historic race for the Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vics, four other Ona Speedway divisions will also be in action for special races. The LG Pressure Washing Modifieds will race 35 laps for $800 to win, the Haunted Majestic Street Stocks 35 laps for $800 to win, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s 30 laps for $500 to win, and Three Sixteen Motorsports INEX Legends Cars 20 laps for $400 to win.
Pit gates will open at 10:00 am on October 26th with practice starting at 11:00 am followed by qualifying at 1:30 pm. Racing will start at 4:00 pm. General admission for this historic event is $20 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under. All access pit passes are $40 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.
The speedway will also be open on Friday, October 25th for an open Test N’ Tune day from noon until 6:00 pm. All teams are encouraged to come for practice on Friday as the best opportunity to get plenty of track time. Pit passes on Friday will be $20 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under. Drivers who pre-enter will receive a FREE pit pass for Friday.
Primitive camping is available for the weekend for $25. The campsite is in the pit area so pit passes on Friday and Saturday must also be purchased.
Race sponsor Haunted Majestic is Cabell County’s premier haunted attraction. They will be offering several promotions around this event for race teams and fans as everyone will be encouraged to go to the Haunted Majestic after practice on Friday and the race on Saturday.
