ONA, WV-The Ona Speedway is set for one of it’s biggest events of the season, the 4th Annual K&J Demolition & Excavation Firecracker Extravaganza on August 4th-5th.  The jam packed event will feature two complete days of racing and end with one of Cabell County’s biggest fireworks shows, the Yes Chevrolet/Yes Ford Fireworks Show.  Over the course of the weekend, 10 different racing divisions will be competing.

Friday night will boast the biggest Friday night race in the history of the speedway.  The Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s will headline the night with the Firecracker 40, the largest Ona sanctioned UCAR race of the season.  The night will also be headlined by the first race of the Haunted Majestic Street Stock Extravaganza.  The Street Stocks will race a 30 lap, $500 to win special on Friday in which the winner will be eligible for an $850 bonus if they win Saturday’s race #2, the 35 lap Summer Sizzler 35.  Both of these races will be intense as a lot of money and prestige is on the line for the winners of each race.  All Seasons Powersports Late Models, Jeffrey Trucking INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro, Sport Mods, and Classic Cars will also be on the racing card.

Following Friday night’s races, all ticket holders will be permitted into the pit area for the Pit Party.  The Pit Party will feature the tri-states premier karaoke show with “The King of Karaoke” Larry Adkins.  The Pit Party is also a great opportunity for fans to come in the pits and get to meet and talk with the drivers.

As jam packed as Friday’s racing card is, Saturday’s racing card is even more jam packed.  The CRS Super Truck Series will invade Ona for their much anticipated only trip to West Virginia this year.  They will compete in the One Way Septic 30.  Last season’s CRS Super Truck race was one of the most exciting of the season when now 14 year old Carson Lucas made a late race pass on Brandon Huff to take the feature win.  Lucas will once again be in action in the CRS Super Truck and will also be in action in the Late Model on Friday.

Race #2 of the Street Stock Extravaganza will see the class compete in the Summer Sizzler 35 paying $600 to win.  This might just be one of the most intense Street Stock races of the season ever seen at Ona as Friday night’s winner will be racing for an $850 bonus in addition to the winners purse.  Larry Adkins, The Fly In Cafe, Dalton Parsons, and T. J. Layne have all contributed to make this bonus.  Patriot Meat Processing Modifieds, Mays Tire & Service Center INEX Legends Car Pro, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s, and Gumbo Stop Cafe Crazy Compacts will also be in action.  Friday night’s Firecracker 40 winner will also win a $100 bonus if they are able to win Saturday’s UCAR feature.Following all of the exciting racing action, the skies will light up with one of Cabell County’s premier fireworks shows, the Yes Chevrolet/Yes Ford Fireworks Show.

Track management is making the weekend an even better deal for fans as admission prices will not raise for either night.  General admission each night is only $15 for ages 13 and up and free for ages 12 and under.  All access pit passes are $35 for ages 13 and up and free for ages 12 and under.  Racing will start at 7:00 pm on Friday and 6:30 pm on Saturday.
