Crazy Compact Rules

 

GENERAL

  1. Eligible models
  2. 1980 or newer front wheel drive 4-cylinder car.
  3. 2 or 4 door AMERICAN cars. Honda’s WITHOUT A V-TEC MOTOR can also race.
  4. No Convertibles, Camaros, Vans, No Two Seat Coupes, No Turbo or Super Charged Engines, No Multi Carburetors, No Rotary Engines, No Mid or Rear Engine Cars, and No Cosworth Engines.

 

  1. Engine
  2. Single cam 4 cylinder. No DOHC engines allowed.
  3. Engine must match make and model of car.
  4. Factory header allowed.
  5. Must have factory air intake.
  6. No rotary engines or power adders.
  7. No turbos allowed.
  8. Cars must have no more than 20lb more than factory compression in the engine for the make and model of the car.

 

  1. Drivetrain
  2. Factory automatics only. No standard transmissions allowed.
  3. No direct drives or couplers. No locking torque converters.

 

  1. Weight
  2. Minimum weight-2500 lbs.
  3. 56% maximum weight on left side.
  4. Any added weight must be securely fastened with number of car marked on it.
  5. Chassis, Body, Interior
  6. This is a fully stock class, not cutting of factory structure except for clearance of roll cage.
  7. Hood, trunk and inner structure may NOT be removed.
  8. Door structure may only be cut to allow clearance for roll cage.
  9. Doors must be bolted or welded shut.
  10. Factory hood and trunk locks must be removed and replaced with hood pins.
  11. Any exterior trim, headlights, taillights and parking lights must be removed.
  12. Factory fuel tank or fuel cell is permitted.
  13. Drivers compartment must be sealed from fuel cell if used.
  14. Fire extinguisher must be within reach of driver.
  15. If used, fuel cells must be secured with steel straps.
  16. 4 point roll cage with bars minimum of 1-1/2 in diameter is required.
  17. Minimum of 3 driver’s door bars and 1 on passenger door.
  18. Max of 3 degrees camber on any wheel. Factory mounting adjustment only.
  19. All glass except windshield must be removed. Lexan or 3 bars may be used if windshield is removed.
  20. No rear or side view mirrors allowed. No radios allowed.
  21. All flammable equipment must be removed from car.
  22. Approved window net is required on driver’s side. STRICTLY ENFORCED
  23. Racing seat and 4 point harness required no older than 5 years.
  24. Battery may be moved behind driver provided it is completely covered and securely fastened. Marine battery box recommended.
  25. No made for racing shocks, struts or springs are allowed. Factory suspension parts only
  26. 4 inch minimum ground clearance
  27. Spring rubbers are allowed.

 

  1. Tires & Wheels
  2. Min. 400 Treadwear Rule. Must be street radials 13”-16” Minimum 60 series allowed (60/65, 70/75, 80/85)
  3. No recaps. No aluminum or steel rims, stock, standard offset or Steel Racing Wheels
  4. All rims must be OEM steel or aluminum with a maximum width of 7 inches and a standard bead. Exception of right front rim. Right front rim must be aluminum or OEM  or the approved Dodge steel rim. 
  5. No Hoosier or Mickey Thompson tires or Falkens.
  6. No Wheel Spacers.
  7. All 4 rims same size (15s with 15s, 14s with 14s).
  8. No Wheel Adaptors

NUMBERS

Cars MUST be painted and lettered neatly. Cars MUST look like race cars. An 18″ minimum sized number is REQUIRED on both doors and roof top. No reflective numbers! Roof number MUST be displayed for viewing from the right (passenger) side of the car. Numbers MUST be legible and visible to the scoring tower. If your number is not visible, YOU WILL NOT BE SCORED which will result in a loss of awarded points. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

MINIMUM SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

All cars are subject to inspection at any time. It is the responsibility of the driver to prepare their car FREE of defects and in safe operation.

Driver’s door must be reinforced with three door bars 1.5” x .095 wall or greater.

ROLL CAGES

All cages must be made from round steel at least 1.5 inches O.D. x .095” thickness, seamless tubing. Galvanized Pipe Prohibited. All cars must be constructed with a 4-point roll cage consistent with the diagram in the current NASCAR Racing Rulebook. Bars must remain inside firewall.

Drivers’ seats must be welded or bolted to the frame and away from the inside of the driver’s door bar. Four (4) point racing belts with quick release are mandatory and must meet S.F.I. specifications. No surplus belts.

Belt mounting must be approved by Tech Officials. Seat belts can be no older than five (5) years.

Window nets are mandatory. Window net must be full-size ribbon or mesh type. Window nets must be up at all times while on the racetrack.

Drivers must be protected at all times with a proper crash helmet meeting all Snell 95 or newer specifications (with sticker visible and unaltered) and a flame-resistant driving suit, top and bottom, meeting SFI specifications. Flame resistant under garments, socks and shoes are highly recommended. Gloves are mandatory.

INSPECTION

All cars MUST meet minimum TECHNICAL and SAFETY inspection as REQUIRED.

The top 3 cars, or as deemed by TECH OFFICIALS, MUST stop at the designated tech area after the FEATURE for minimum inspection or they will be immediately disqualified.  Any car however can be inspected at any time.

The DRIVER with the car will be the ONLY persons allowed in the TECH AREA.

TECH OFFICIALS may request additional cars for inspection as requested and or as deemed necessary.

Any driver refusing or not complying with inspection request will be immediately disqualified.

Any car found not in compliance will be immediately disqualified. Disqualification will result in loss of points, awards, and money.

NOTICE:

Anything not covered by the following rules, abuse of the rules, and a creative interpretation of the rules should be checked with through the ONA SPEEDWAY TECH INSPECTORS before proceeding. Any decision on questionable items about rules is up to the EVENT DIRECTOR and the TECH INSPECTOR and our decision is FINAL!

The above rules are set to provide for the orderly conduct of all racing programs at Ona Speedway. They are intended as a guideline and are in NO WAY a guarantee against injury or death to its participants.

RULES MAY BE CHANGED AT ANY TIME FOR THE GOOD SPORT OF RACING. Any interpretation or deviation of the rules will be left to the decision of the officials whose decisions are final.
