ONA, WV-The Ona Speedway near Huntington, WV is set for one of it’s biggest fan events of the season, the 3rd Annual JR’s Frame & Body Fireworks Extravaganza on Friday, June 24th and Saturday, June 25th.  The two day event will culminate with one of the region’s largest fireworks shows, the Yes Chevrolet/Yes Ford Fireworks Show presented by Shaffer’s Drive-In and Bill & Lynn Bauer.

The two day event will get underway on Friday, June 24th with a four division racing program featuring the Keaton’s Collision Center Late Models, Greg Chandler Frame & Body Sport Mods, Contempo Trophy & Award UCAR’s, and Snap Lawn & Handyman Crazy Compacts.  All 4 divisions are set to run their longest feature races of the season on Friday with 30 laps for the Late Models, 30 laps for the Sport Mods, 35 laps for the UCAR’s, and 25 laps for the Crazy Compacts.  Adult general admission on Friday is the cheapest of the season at a special fan appreciation price of $5.  Kids 10 and under will be permitted in free with a paying adult.  General admission gates will open at 5:00 pm with racing at 7:00 pm.

Night #2 on Friday, June 25th will feature a five division racing program with McCam Builders Modifieds, Bumper Pounding Street Stocks, McCam Builders Classic Cars, Southern Ohio Speed INEX Legends Car Pro, and Geer Brother’s Body Shop INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro.  At the conclusion of the racing program, the night sky will light up with the Yes Chevrolet/Yes Ford Fireworks Show presented by Shaffer’s Drive-In and Bill & Lynn Bauer.  The annual fireworks show has quickly grown to one of the biggest in the region and is set to be the biggest one yet this year.  General admission Saturday is $15 for ages 15 and up, $10 for ages 11-14, and free for ages 10 and under.

Race fans can expect the racing action on the track all weekend to be as hot as the fireworks in the sky.  With three race nights completed so far this season, the competition has been intense with a lot of different winners and a lot of great races.  This weekend will be the start of a grueling stretch of summer races that will lead drivers to the Season Championship night in September.
