ONA, WV-The Ona Speedway returns to action on Saturday, July 10th for One Way Septic Night featuring the USAC Eastern Midgets, Keaton’s Collision Center Late Models, Rocky Top’s Pizza Street Stocks, McCam Builders Classic Cars, Contempo Trophy & Awards U Cars, Southern Ohio Speed INEX Legends Car Pro, Keaton’s Collision Center INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro, and Chandler Auto Performance Crazy Compacts.  This will be the only race that Ona will have in July as the track takes a summer break for vacations.

USAC Eastern Midget Preview
The USAC Eastern Midgets will make their first ever visit to Ona and will mark the first open wheel Sprint Car/Midget race at the historic speedway in many years, possibly since the 1970’s when USAC last raced at the speedway.  The USAC Eastern Midget series races at some of the premier short tracks in the southeast including Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, Lonesome Pine Speedway, Dominion Raceway, Dillon Motor Speedway, and many more.  Jessica Bean, the winningest female driver in USAC history, leads the series point standings while Chris Lamb won the last series event at Dominion Raceway.  The USAC Eastern Midgets will no doubt put on a high speed, thrilling show that race fans cannot miss.

Keaton’s Collision Center Late Model Preview
Jake Keaton has had a dominant season in the Late Model division, winning all 5 races and setting himself up with a 16 point lead with only 3 points races remaining.  Brad Coons keeps inching closer to Keaton and held off Keaton for several laps the last race.  Jacob Bell, who has been Keaton’s biggest championship rival, unfortunately suffered a heavy crash last race and has said he will be done for the rest of the season.  Hopefully that doesn’t end up being the case, but if it is, it will position defending track champion Kenny Parsons as Keaton’s new championship rival as he would look to move into second in points after Saturday’s races.  There are still several new Late Models being finished that the track is hopeful will be out for the July 10th show.

Rocky Top’s Pizza Street Stock Preview
Last race out J. R. Webb became the first repeat winner in the Street Stocks with a dominating performance.  Webb is tentatively not scheduled to compete in the July 10th race, but rumor is one of Ona’s most successful drivers will come out of retirement to drive Webb’s #5 on Saturday.  You can follow the Ona Speedway Facebook page for more details on that development.  Clark Perry and Chris Jividen are battling neck and neck for the track championship with Perry holding a narrow 2 point lead over Jividen heading into Saturday.  With 4 points races remaining, that points battle is sure to get even more intense.  Veteran driver Kenny Chapman showed a lot of speed last race as he finished second and ran the fastest lap of the race.  Clinton Thompson, who won the first race of the season in exciting fashion, has been struck with bad luck ever since and will look to shake the bad luck streak on Saturday.

McCam Builders Classic Car Preview
While the car count hasn’t been the highest this season in the Classic Cars, the racing has been off the charts.  Last race out saw another great race with Brad Cooper and Will Hass battling side by side for the lead.  Cooper held off Hass to take his first win since 2019, finally shaking off the bad luck.  With Coopers win, he set himself up for an intense battle with Hass for the track championship this summer as Hass holds a narrow 2 point lead over Cooper.  With 3 different winners this season, it’s truly anyone’s race who can win in the Classic Car division.

Contempo Trophy & Awards U Car Preview
It has been a great 2021 season for the U Car division with high car counts and great racing.  The last race saw Chris Deskins make a daring three wide pass for the win in the 40 lap feature over Keith Watson.  With the win, Deskins became the first repeat winner of the season in the class and puts himself into the thick of the battle for the track championship.  In the track championship battle, Keith Watson holds a one point lead over David Adkins, three point lead over Deskins, and an 8 point lead over Reuben Fetty.  The battle for the track championship is sure to get even more intense as each race goes on.

Southern Ohio Speed INEX Legends Car Pro Preview
Steve Swann extended his points lead to 13 points in the last Legends Car Pro race after taking his third win of the season.  Swann was challenged late in the race by Jake Keaton who finished second in his first Legends Car start.  Keaton has already won races this season in the Late Model and Modified divisions.  Based off what we saw last race, it looks like we could be setting up for some Swann vs Keaton Legends Car battles as we head into the second half of the season.

Keaton’s Collision Center INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro Preview
The Legends Car Semi-Pro class has proven to put on some of the most exciting racing of all the classes at Ona.  The field stays bunched up tight and is always an unpredictable 20 lap feature.  Who is going to take the feature win is as unpredictable as the racing with a different winner every single race this season.  The points battle is just as tight as the racing on track with the top 4 in points only separated by 5 points heading into Saturday.  Will we have another new winner Saturday?  Who will walk away the points leader after Saturday’s races?  It will be a show you can’t miss!

Chandler Auto Performance Crazy Compact Preview
Thomas Bailey took his third win of the season last race in the Crazy Compact division and is always the favorite in any race he enters, but the competition continues to tighten up.  Stacie Watson scored her best career finish last race in second with Evan Proctor scoring another podium.  Several drivers are matching or just barely off Bailey in their fastest lap of the race but look to maintain those lap times as consistently as Bailey does.  Kassidee Bush comes into Saturday with a 9 point lead over teammate Evan Proctor.
