ONA, WV-The Ona Speedway will be back in action for the second consecutive weekend this Saturday, August 15th for the State Electric Supply 40. This race is the biggest All Season’s Powersports Late Model race of the season as the class will headline the night with a 40 lap, $1,000 to win, $200 to start feature. The Mountain Linked Modifieds, Skeens Towing & Recovery Street Stocks, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s, Legends Depot INEX Legends Cars, Brody Nash Crown Vics, Complete Temperature Control Crazy Compacts and Keaton’s Collision Center Juice Boxes will all also be in action.
Last year’s first State Electric Supply 40 was one of the best races of the season as teenager Carson Lucas made the pass for the win coming to the white flag to score what was at that time his first career Late Model feature win at Ona Speedway. Lucas has since gone on to win 2 more Late Model races, including one this season. Defending track champion Jake Keaton has the momentum heading into the race as he scored the win last Saturday.
For all divisions, Saturday will start the Run for the Title, the first of the final four points races of the season. Following Saturday’s races, each driver had their worst finish/missed race removed from the points as the points were reset. With rain playing havoc on a lot of the summer stretch of the season, the reset has made the standings perhaps the closest they have ever been in mid-August which is going to setup a phenomenal run to the Season Championships on September 26th.
General admission Saturday is only $15 for ages 13+ and FREE for ages 12 and under. All access pit passes are $35 for ages 13+ and FREE for ages 12 and under.
All minors must be accompanied by an adult and ticket sales are cash only at the ticket gate.
Pit gates will open at 1:45 pm while general admission gates will open at 5:00 pm. Racing will start at 6:30 pm.
