ONA, WV-After a long mid-summer break caused by weather, the Ona Speedway will roar back to life this Saturday, August 1st in a big way with the Putnam County Bank Throwback Classic. The night will feature the Super Cup Stock Car Series plus All Season’s Powersports Late Models, Mountain Linked Modifieds, Skeen’s Towing & Recovery Street Stocks, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s, Legends Depot INEX Legends Cars, Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vics, Complete Temperature Control Crazy Compacts, and Keaton’s Collision Center Juice Boxes.
The Super Cup Stock Car Series is riding a wave of momentum heading into the race at Ona with great racing all season long. Chrissy Wallace, daughter of former NASCAR star Mike Wallace, is the series points leader heading into Ona. This series races full bodied stock cars with bodies that resemble the Gen 4 NASCAR Stock Cars. This series produces exciting racing action and is sure to put on a night of old school racing the way it should be this Saturday.
For the Ona Speedway divisions, drivers will be chomping at the bit to get back on track after such a long break. Our last race back on June 13th saw some of the most exciting racing action we’ve ever seen. With heading into August, points will also be heavily on the drivers minds as Saturday will be the last race that drivers can drop a race before we head into the Run for the Title races starting on August 15th.
General admission for this huge night on Saturday is only $15 for ages 13+ and FREE for ages 12 and under. All access pit passes are $35 for ages 13+ and FREE for ages 12 and under. All minors must be accompanied by an adult for entry. All ticket sales are cash only at the ticket gates. Pit gates will open at 1:00 pm while general admission gates will open at 5:00 pm. Racing will start at 6:30 pm.
We will also host Putnam County Bank Test N’ Tune Night on Friday, July 31st. Friday’s Test N’ Tune will see pits open at 5:00 pm and track time from 5:30-8:30 pm. The cost is only $25 for a driver and race car and all access pit passes are only $10. General admission for Friday night is FREE!
