ONA, WV-Dating all the way back to the 1960’s when the NASCAR Cup Series visited Ona Speedway, the Mountaineer has always been the speedways premier event.  From the Mountaineer 300 and Mountaineer 500 with the NASCAR Cup Series, to the Mountaineer 100 in it’s modern day form as one of the regions premier Modified specials, this is a race that everyone wants to win.  This season’s version of the Tom Whiteside Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Mountaineer 100 presented by Complete Temperature Control proves to be one of the biggest in the modern era of the speedway.

This Saturday’s Tom Whiteside Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Mountaineer 100 presented by Complete Temperature Control will pay the LG Pressure Washing Modifieds $3,135 to win in one of the highest paying Modified races in the history of the track.  It is the highest the race has paid to win in nearly 10 years.  The increased purse has drawn an entry list that has over 20 Modifieds from 6 different states.  Saturday’s race will no doubt feature one of the toughest fields of cars in Mountaineer history.

Drawing off of the success of last seasons Halloween Bash, the other headline event making the other 50 laps of the Mountaineer 100 will be the $1,500 to win Brody Nash Century 21 race.  This race has already drawn top Crown Vic drivers from Ohio and Indiana to join a tough contingent of Ona Speedway regulars to do battle. There will also be three other special races with the Eco First Street Stocks battling for $800 to win, Three Sixteen Motorsports INEX Legends Cars battling for $400 to win, and Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s battling for $400 to win.

All of the weekend’s action will get underway on Friday, October 24th with the Mountaineer Test N’ Tune Day.  This will feature an open Test N’ Tune from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm as drivers use the practice time to dial their cars in for Saturday.  Following the Test N’ Tune, there will be the Mays Transfer & Contracting/Mays Tire & Service Center Pit Party featuring live music from Kayla Woodrum at 8:00 pm.  Pit passes for Friday are $20 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.

Pit gates will open Saturday at 11:00 am while general admission gates will open at 3:00 pm with racing at 5:00 pm.  General admission for this mega event is only $20 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under with accompanying adult.  All access pit passes are $40 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.  All ticket sales are cash only at the ticket gates.
