ONA, WV-After weather postponed all races during the month of May, the Ona Speedway is ready to get back to action in what is set to be a busy month of June.  The first race up will be Putnam County Bank Throwback Night and All Star Bash this Saturday, June 1st

Putnam County Bank Throwback Night is always a much anticipated race at the speedway.   There’s very few tracks in the country with the rich history that Ona Speedway has and this is a night that we celebrate that history.  During intermission, all past champions will be honored in a Champions Reunion on the frontstretch.  Everyone in attendance is also encouraged to wear their throwback racing gear.

To make what is already a great night even bigger, Ona Speedway and Putnam County Bank got together to bring the first annual Putnam County Bank All Star Bash.  The race will see the Haunted Majestic Street Stocks, the cars that Ona races that most resemble the cars of the past, compete in a special race with an All Star type format.  The race will be 35 laps total and be broken into three segments.  The first segment will be 10 laps and pay $125 to win, the second segment 15 laps and pay $125 to win, and the final segment a 10 lap shootout for $650 to win.  If a driver can win all three segments, they will receive an additional $100 bonus to take home a total of $1,000.  This all star race format throws back to the many years the NASCAR All Star race ended with a 10 lap shootout for the big money.

“We are so excited to see what excitement the All Star Bash will bring”, stated track promoter T. J. Layne.  “The Street Stock division has a rich history of producing some of the most thrilling racing at the track.  When you put our Street Stock division in a race like this with a lot of bonus money available, I think the recipe will be a show that the fans won’t want to miss.”

In addition to the Putnam County Bank All Star Bash for the Haunted Majestic Street Stocks, the All Seasons Powersports Late Models, LG Pressure Washing Modifieds, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR’s, Three Sixteen Motorsports INEX Legends Car Pro, Three SIxteen Motorsports INEX Legends Car Semi-Pro, and Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vic divisions will all be in action.  All of the drivers in those divisions will be anxious to get back on track and chase a race win after having a month off with the weather cancelations in May.

Racing will start Saturday at 6:30 pm.  Pit gates open at 1:00 pm with general admission gates opening at 5:00 pm.  General admission is only $15 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.  All access pit passes are $35 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.  All ticket and concession sales are cash only at the speedway.

The speedway will also be open this Thursday, May 30th for Putnam County Bank Test N’ Tune Night.  The track will host open practice from 5:00 pm until dark.  Pit passes Thursday are only $10 for ages 13 and up and FREE for ages 12 and under.  The cost for a race car driver and car is $25.
