ONA, WV — After a full spring and summer of racing, the 2026 Ona Speedway track champions will be crowned during the RECO Products Season Championships & Kids Night this Saturday, September 26th.
Championships will be decided in seven divisions, with several close points battles expected to come down to the final laps of the season. The Baby Grand Stock Cars will also return for a 25-lap feature, while a free inflatable obstacle course will be available for the kids in the midway area.
One of the closest championship battles is in the All Seasons Powersports Late Model division. Jake Keaton enters Saturday with a four-point lead over Carson Lucas. Keaton is looking for his sixth consecutive Ona Speedway Late Model championship, while Lucas will be trying to close the gap and take the title. Logan Huckeba and Devyn Marcum are also separated by only two points in the battle for third.
Jeremy Cooper holds a six-point advantage over Andy Booten in the Mountain Linked Modified standings. Cooper and Booten have combined to win every Modified track championship at Ona Speedway since 2018, and the two will once again settle the title between themselves Saturday night. Additional Modifieds are also expected as teams prepare for October’s Swope Construction Company Mountaineer 100.
Rick Watson returned to racing this season after being out of the driver’s seat since 2022 and has led the Skeens Towing & Recovery Street Stock standings since opening night. Watson carries a nine-point lead over Brenton Beall into the finale as he looks to add another championship to his racing career.
The Contempo Trophy & Awards UCAR championship remains wide open with five drivers still mathematically alive. Joe Workman leads Evan Strickland by five points, Chris Deskins by six, David Adkins by seven and Keith Watson by 11. Four of those five drivers have already visited victory lane this season, setting up one of the most unpredictable championship races of the night.
Defending Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vic champion Dusty Harding will attempt to win his second consecutive title. Harding leads John Laforest by eight points, but the large Crown Vic fields seen throughout the season could play a major role in deciding the championship.
Adam Jeffrey enters the finale with a 12-point advantage over Jay Dunlap in the Legends Depot INEX Legends Car division. Jeffrey has enjoyed a career season with three feature victories and is looking to secure his first Ona Speedway track championship. Dunlap, Elijah Johnson and John McCann are also locked in a close battle for the remaining podium positions in the final standings.
Stacie Watson has been the winningest driver in the Complete Temperature Control Crazy Compact division this season. She enters Saturday with a nine-point lead and is in position to clinch the championship by starting the 20-lap feature.
Along with the championship races, the Baby Grand Stock Cars will make their second appearance of the season at Ona Speedway. Indiana’s Danny Trent won a thrilling race during their May visit, and the fast, scaled-down stock cars will return Saturday for another 25-lap feature.
Saturday will also be RECO Products Kids Night. A large inflatable obstacle course from M&M Party Central LLC will be set up in the midway area and will be free for children to enjoy throughout the evening.
The complete racing program will feature the Baby Grand Stock Cars, All Seasons Powersports Late Models, Mountain Linked Modifieds, Skeens Towing & Recovery Street Stocks, Contempo Trophy & Awards UCARs, Legends Depot INEX Legends Cars, Brody Nash Century 21 Crown Vics, Complete Temperature Control Crazy Compacts and Keaton’s Collision Center Juice Boxes.
General admission is $15 for ages 13 and up, with children 12 and under admitted free. All-access pit passes are $35 for ages 13 and up, with children 12 and under free. All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Ticket sales are cash only at the gates.
Pit gates open at 1:15 p.m., general admission gates open at 5:00 p.m. and racing begins at 6:30 p.m.
